The Value of Happiness & Becoming Aware of Our Own Energy- Step 1 

There is a power to awareness of our own energy. The problem is we get so caught up in it we don’t even realize we are entrenched already. This is how we get caught in traps, cycles and loops. Around and round, it goes, and we cycle over and over.
Why does this matter?
It matters because when we want to attract or bring new things into our life, this cycling around and around can take over. Some ways of looking at this that I think are important to consider are, identifying and labeling in a detached way, what it is that we are seeing looping and looping, over and over again. I created a series of circles within themselves for my new Mindfulness-Based Happiness Program I am currently in the process of publishing. It is a 6-week program with practical tools on everything I’ve learned over my lifetime, on what works to increase happiness and well-being.

Why does this matter? When we are happier and relaxed it is easier to manifest, it is easier to become in resonance and alignment with the things we want and that help us. When we are happier, we feel more optimistic, open, free flowing, hopeful and it is easier to imagine and feel the possibilities of other experiences and things. Happiness is a fantastic way to improve manifestation and attract things we feel drawn to.

However, this does not mean happiness alone will make it possible to bring anything and everything you want into your life. Another way of looking at it, is if something is for your highest good, evolution and to become the best version of yourself possible, happiness can help shift you more easily, almost like stepping upwards or sideways to another level of reality you are wanting to be. Unhappiness, sadness, fear, shame, anger, etc. The destructive emotions that exist can be enticing and are kind of like a spider’s web. They are easy to get caught in, and you don’t even realize it’s happened.

Sometimes the most depressed individuals, don’t quite realize they are depressed for some time, or until someone or something points it out to make it clearer. The deeper you fall, or go into the destructive emotions, the more caught we get in them.

Happiness, or rather the feeling of happiness, creates a lightness that lifts us out of these destructive emotions and interrupts the loop we had been in before. I don’t mean happiness caused by destructive or harmful behaviors. I mean really tapping into that feeling of happiness NOW. I understand this can be a MAJOR leap for someone in the throes of severe depression or significant life challenges. However, it doesn’t mean it isn’t relevant and even working to have some moments of better feeling experiences will help.

This matters because the happier we can feel, the lighter and more expansive we become and can experience the world. When we are lighter, more expansive and positive, we become less stuck to the destructive cycle, that like spider webs keep us down. Also, for example, lets imagine you are wanting to attract and bring in more success into your life. Well, if you can start to feel a little happier, it becomes easier to imagine this success, to feel it is possible and to feel you are having that experience already before it has begun. You momentarily, or for as long as you can lift the mood, shift from seeing your reality as heavy, stuck, unchanging and you living an unsuccessful life (for example) to one where at least you can feel and imagine some feeling of joy, success, lightness and possibility.

Practicing this over and over again, ‘becoming’ the feeling state you are trying to attain, can be very powerful for shifting your current situation to a better feeling one and one where the world becomes different to you.

However, the FIRST step I have found from my direct experience is identification and actually SEEING or observing your own energy state to begin with. This is a critical part of the whole situation. We need to become aware of our own feeling state now. So please try this exercise, take some deep breaths in and out 3 times, and feel yourself becoming more and more calm, relaxed and at peace.

Next, please notice how your body, mind and feelings are. What is your experience, try to non-judgmentally notice and observe, being the observer, and not needing to fix or figure out anything.

After this, please try to imagine you are not the feelings, thoughts or bodily sensations, you are the observer of them. Are you experiencing what I call ‘red zone’ destructive emotions, are you more in what I call ‘green zone’ neutral relief emotions, or in blue zone uplifting, light and positive emotions right now? Or is it a mix?

Fostering awareness for this is the first step to breaking free from this cycle.
